SALINITY IN OCEANS
Salinity affects production in crops , it interferes with the nitrogen uptake. Some ions also hamper plant growth.
Salinity of water is one of our major concerns because fish can sustain only a particular salinity in water. Increase in salinity kills planktons which are the major source of food . Together planktons form the base of marine food web. Due to this , increase in salinity of ocean water can disrupt the entire marine ecosystem. Pisiculture and fisheries are responsible for embryogenesis , bladder inflation , and incubation . Thus we see that salinity is one of the factors which will affect the Earth along with temperature.
It is crucial and necessary to focus on them.
